The pillow are so soft. The arquitecture of the building fantastic. I loved the beautiful garden with the little fish pound. And an outstanding service. Friendly employees. Amezing management team. I fully recommend and will share my experience to families and friends.
Lovely and helpful staff. Super responsive to all queries in advance, especially around planning activities. They also have some nice suggestions on their website. ||Hearty breakfasts in the sunny garden. A true bed and breakfast experience. Convenient to city sights and restaurants; we did take Ubers back at night.
Enjoyed our stay, lovely breakfasts and comfortable room, staff alway willing to help. Close to some good restaurants
Superb
Very good
Amazing!
Parker Cottage is a very cute B&B located near some great restaurants. What really sets it apart are the staff. Extremely friendly, any questions before or during your stay are answered very quickly, and they do very much care about how your stay goes. And, like other guests have noted, the breakfast is delicious.
Very comfortable and clean room, welcoming seating areas both in and outdoors, helpful personnel who went the extra mile to answer questions and suggest tours, safe area for senior females, and delicious breakfasts—I enjoyed a different one everyday! Thanks for a terrific holiday experience.
Superb
The house is beautifully appointed with lovely art and antiques. Also it's in a fantastic location. Absolutely spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Wonderful breakfasts on the terrace and very kind owners. Will definitely return ❤️
We have stayed at Parker cottage many times. I cannot image being anywhere else when I come to Cape Town! Every staff member is friendly and helpful. Delightful cozy beds that always render a good nights sleep. Wonderful morning breakfast on the terrace. Always a great recommendation for a restaurant. Pure joy!
What a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. Pamela and her team ensure that your every need is met. Our room was spacious, clean and fresh. Breakfast was SPECTACULAR!
Sadly we were only at Parker Cottage for one night before our flight back to the UK. It was a fabulous place. The room was beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend and am hoping to go back again for longer next time. Pamela was a fantastic host and very helpful.
A wonderful guesthouse in a quiet leafy street within walking distance of the centre of capetown. It's a little haven of peace set in lovely gardens where an excellent breakfast is served with such attention to detail and professionalism and lovely smiles. Pamela, Tomas, Jameson and all the staff look after your every need and are so welcoming. We can't wait to return next year .
Lovely part of Cape Town with a boho vibe.. views of Table Mointain and great coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance. The cottage is tasteful and serene, great breakfast in little alcoves in the front of the house.
Nice and very friendly staff in a safe environment. The served breakfast was very delicous with many kind of kombinations. transfer to the airport, reservations in restaurants, tips where to go - all was organized to our great satisfaction. Thank you and looking forward - perhaps next year?
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Parker Cottage. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast on the front porch was delightful. South Africa experiences rolling blackouts, but Parker Cottage has solar power to cover the outages. Lots of food and coffee options within a couple blocks of the B&B.
Parker Cottage should be your first choice when staying in Cape Town. The facilities are fabulous .. couldn't ask for nicer accommodation .. the rooms are lovely and very well maintained .. outdoor spaces are special and breakfast is varied and a treat. Pamela and her Team go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. The location is ideal .. very good restaurants and bars close by. Easy walking to a lot of sights. Certainly will be back the next time in Cape Town.
Really nice accomodation in Cape Town. Perfectly located close to the city and to table mountain. Very nice Hosts. We stayed two nights and will definetly come back during one of our next visits to Cape Town.
We liked everything about Parker Cottage, the booking process, good effective and responsive communication, very well situated in Cape Town, close to major access routes. Tomas, the manager, was brilliant, on top of his game, very accessible, friendly, and knowledgeable. Very efficient in immediately pointing us in the right direction, when we requested details of car wash. Rooms lovely, clean, fresh and fantastic towels. Honesty bar. Very comfortable and spacious.
The house made me feel comfortable and at home. The service was just prfect - not too much attention, not too little. That creates a normal,, relaxed atmosphere, just what a busy visitor needs! Thank you
I enjoyed my stay at Parker Cottage very much. Staff was always helpfull and friendly, service and information were excellent. The linen and matresses are of great quality. What I liked best is that the cottage is furnished with so much taste! Every room a bit different, but everything is meant to not only be practical, but to also please the eye! There also are nice linving rooms where you can meet other guests or just sit on the sofa and enjoy a glass of wine and a good read. A friend recomended me to stay here - Next time I come to Cape Town I would like to stay here again.
This was my second stay at this guest cottage for simple reasons. The owners and staff are warm and so very helpful. They helped arrange pick ups and a car rental. It is also well situated and I love the breakfast parfait.
Parker Cottage is hands-down one of the best guest houses / B&Bs I've ever stayed at in this whole wide world, and there have been quiet a few.
Pamela and her amazing team provide outstanding hospitality on ever level. The rooms are very individual and all are not just beautiful but very comfortable, super clean and nicely appointment.
The services provided are spot on ... from flawless airport transfer to many tips on offer what to do, how to get there, what's safe (and what is not), and special local gems ... then there is also very affordable laundry ... as well as baggage storage, useful to organize between segments of a trip. There is also a free tea station for a hot drink during the day, to take in one of the lovely sitting areas in-doors or on the verandah outdoors, overlooking the splendid gardens.
Last but not least ... the breakfast. A multi-course feast freshly made that is super tasty and very generous in portion sizes. Really sets you up for a day sightseeing in Cape Town.
I already look forward to going back to Parker Cottage ... its just such a special place.
P.S. Special neighborhood tip. For food souvenirs ... go to the Olive Brand Deli ... Lifestyle on Kloof Centre, Gardens, 50 Kloof St ... a short walk away from Parker Cottage. It's a most beautiful shops! Ask for the owner Omeros ... one of the nicest people you'll ever meet ... and he will walk you through the options.
P.P.S. If you are looking for a guide to explore the many hiking trails in and around Cape Town (and in the Cape area further afield), I highly recommend Justin Hawthorne (good him with name and South Africa Mountain Guide).
Parker Cottage is more than a very nice guesthouse which is owned by Pamela. Her hospitality and from the employees are great! The rooms and bathroom are very comfertable. Also the breakfast, which was made to order, was very nice. The living rooms are very cosy and funished very comfortable. When we go back to ZA, Cape Town, we will certainly go back to stay at Parker Cottage. Pieter, Linda
Beautiful heritage house with wonderful History. We loved the attention to detail and just moments away from busy City Centre, nice to come back to quiet after a busy day. Clean well appointed rooms and lovely staff. Would most definitely choose this again for Location, Experience, Staff, Rooms, excellent breakfast.
We spent 3 nights at this beautiful guesthouse, and were so happy we found it. Every excellent previous review, is exactly what you find here. Quite street, yet in Cape Town center, beautiful renovated building, specious room, excellent breakfast made to your order, and above all, Pamela, our host. Very friendly and happy to help in every aspect. If in Cape Town, and had enough of big noisy hotels, don't hesitate, this is the place for you.
I liked the quietness in the middle of the town. As the Guest House is protected by other houses it is very quiet to relax. Within 5 min. by walk you are at the vibrant Kloof Street and in walking distance to the best restaurants in town. The friendly staff and fabolous breakfast makes that the place to stay in CapeTown.
We emphasize quality, atmosphere and beautiful surroundings and decor - absolutely wonderful stay here. Thank you, Pamela and Tomas, for a highly memorable stay in Cape Town ! We thank you also for connecting us to fabulous Chris, who drove us around The Western Cape for three days and lectured in a very personal way about South Africa and Cape Town: Indispensable !
We arrived for a 3 night stay and due to our travel arrangements arrived mid-morning. We didn't expect our room to be ready however we were met by Tomas who informed us it was ready and we could use it straight away. Superb after travelling. Tomas explained absolutely everything to us and explained the house. There is a communal lounge that can be used and you help yourself (honesty box) to any drinks from the kitchen. This gave an excellent finish to a long days sightseeing. The rooms were large, very comfortable as was the bathroom. The breakfasts are superb and plentiful and we were lucky enough to be given ours on the patio. There is ample on street parking and the cottage is in a more residential type area but very close to restaurants and bars. Tomas and Pamela along with the rest of the staff made our stay truly memorable and if you are looking for a place to stay in Cape Town then please give this great consideration.
A friendly welcome, quality and comfortable room, easy walking distance to excellent restaurants yet peaceful and quiet, topped off with an excellent breakfast. For us out-of-towners the perfect place for a city weekend.
Really beautiful stay in a beautiful part of Cape Town. The building is stunning and has been exceptionally renovated to maintain its heritage beauty. Sitting outside in the sun/garden to eat is a treat, but also lovely to eat inside with other guests on colder days. The breakfast is fresh, plentiful and creative, and the staff go out of their way to ensure you start your day well. The rooms and bathrooms are large and well appointed with stunning finishes. The bed is cosy like a marshmallow. Having the fireplace in our bedroom was perfect for the cold evenings.
A prime b&b located in the Tamboerskloof district. Always a pleasure to stay here. Quiet location, beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and always welcoming. Nothing is too much. The transfer from the airport arranged by them was also very well arranged.
Parker cottage is a tranquil oasis in the bustling city of Cape Town. This gorgeous renovated cottage has an incredible owner, Pamela, who hires wonderful staff members who take care of their guests. My favorite part of our stay was the full, English style breakfast every morning on the sun drenched patio. With a beautiful garden, koi pond, and orange tree it certainly is an oasis from the bustle of the city.
Thank you Pamela and staff!
Parker Cottage is in a perfect location and the staff is lovely. They serve an amazing breakfast every morning and it feels like you're at a nice restaurant sitting on a lovely porch.
The staff was available to help you make decisions for seeing Cape Town and make arrangements, if needed. They also had good restaurant recommendations.
The only drawback to staying here was that this is an older home and the floors are quite creaky. Despite that, the rooms themselves were quieter than I expected and I had no difficulty sleeping. I do use earplugs when I travel, so that probably helps. We walked from the Cottage to the central business district and it's an nice and easy walk (all downhill) and we took an Uber back at the end of our day.
We had a fabulous stay. Our suite was spotless and had absolutely everything you could need or want. From the cookies on our pillow to the stocked up coffee machine, there were thoughtful touches everywhere. Beds were comfy, plenty of towels and shampoos and even cotton buds. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.
Parker Guesthouse feels like a family run business, all the staff are very attentive and helpful and they really do try to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
The room we stayed in (the Fitzroy) is massive, with a huge bathroom and a great bathtub, which was a bonus. The breakfast is incredible, always fresh and million times better than any chain hotels. The area is also great, lost of eating places within walking distance, and very easy to drive or get an Uber to anywhere in the city. You also get amazing views of Table Mountain just as you come out the front door, which is a bonus
All great stuff. Staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and great with communication. Bed was super comfortable. Place was clean and felt safe. Breakfast was made to order and delicious, even beautiful plates. Loved the location, a quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to cute little hip area of restaurants.
The Parker Cottage is one of my favorite lodging places to stay anywhere in the world. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Cape Town. Though it considers itself a guest house, it provides many of the services of a five-star hotel at a fraction of the price. For example, the superb staff functions like concierges, making dinner reservations for you and arranging tours. The breakfasts are justifiably famous for their variety and quality. They also are ample. You may not have any room to eat lunch! The rooms and the grounds are beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated. The garden with its Koi Pond is especially alluring. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you will feel very much at home and completely pampered.
What a fantastic venue - stunning building, stylish decor, incredibly friendly staff & delicious breakfast set in tranquil gardens. We loved our time here and will make sure it's a lot longer next time!
Well deserved rating as the best in town!
The monumental cottage is in a beautiful lush part of Capetown called Tamboerskloof and is decorated with love and attention for detail.
The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful and what really made the day was the excellent breakfast served on the porch or in the cosy garden..
What a fabulous place to stay. We just love it and have booked longer to stay next year.
The location is perfect ….walking into the city is easy, lots of good restaurants within walking distance. It's a lovely old villa, full of charm and character with buildings all around yet it has an air of peace and tranquility. Quiet at night.
Sitting on the veranda in the mornings for sumptuous breakfasts or later in the day with a glass of wine from the honesty bar is just perfect.
Easy street parking, staff can't do enough for you. Lovely rooms.
One of the gentlest stays I've experienced in any country. The staff are helpful and kind, willing to help if you require it and also willing to leave you alone. The rooms are well appointed, super clean and there's a sense that the Cottage is lovingly cared for. I did miss the kettle but there's one in the kitchenette which was handy.
First, the place/building has a lot of character, the rooms have good beds, high ceiling and the bathrooms are well renovated and modern. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, the service from the staff, Pamela, Tomas, and Jamie, and not to forget the kitchen staff, is absolutely outstanding, friendly, personalized and very professional. The sumptuous breakfast is top class, delicious, innovative, and healthy.
The house is a gorgeous Victorian house, each room being decorated with taste. The amenities are also up to the level of 5 stars accommodation. Not to forget breakfast, service, advices for restaurant, activities...
Thank you to Pamela, Tomas and Jameson for being to helpful and patient with our requests.
Parker Cottage is a lovely place to stay! The rooms are all unique and the accommodations comfortable and serene. Also, it's really well-located. Everyone working there is thoughtful and super helpful (we needed to rent a car and later to store luggage offsite after we left, and they were able to provide us with excellent options both times). They even offered an extra (quiet) room to one of our family members who'd had a tiring, day-long travel delay and would otherwise have bunked among all the family chaos (we were a group of 5). Breakfast is consistently delicious! Thanks Pamela, Tomas and Jameson!
This isn't a hotel. This is the home of a family member you have never known but receives you as a long lost contact! Great rooms, extraordinary staff and fantastic breakfasts in a quiet surrounding around the corner of the neighbourhood where it all happens. We stayed at the beginning and end of our holiday. The moment you say goodbye the desire for your next stay begins. Massieve thx to all of you at Parker cottage!
Very lovely cottage with great amenities, spacious, sparkly clean room with very comfortable bed. Located in quiet area which is walking distance from restaurants and shops. Service was excellent with very friendly staff and the most adorable little welcoming puppy in Cooper.
Very friendly and helpful hosts, lovely cottage with a feel-good atmosphere, great location. We only stayed one night, but enjoyed it a lot. The cottage has a lot of atmosphere and the hosts really make the difference, they are very carying and helpful! And they had a very cute puppy :-)
This is our third time and our stay was great, again.
Jameson was extremely accommodating and friendly, so were the ladies.
The breakfast was really good .
The room was comfortable and quiet.
Looking forward to our next stay
This property is in an excellent location, near restaurants, shops, bars/clubs, and sights.
Rooms are well-appointed and comfortable with full bathrooms with appropriate toiletries; comfy beds; multi-system power supplies; ceiling fans, desks, and some units have outdoor spaces.
Breakfasts have multiple courses and are served individually on two, large family-style tables. Therefore, each morning you can either get to know your neighbors or dine alone.
The cottage has a porch and other shared indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and refreshments are available 24/7, just sign for what you consume -- they use the honor system.
The staff greets each party in the den area and walks through the property, provides a map of the area, and makes suggestions (and if needed reservations) for dining in the area, at the harbor, or downtown as well as for sightseeing.
The staff and owners are all friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Just listen carefully as they walk you through the key and lock permutations, it will serve you well.
I always stay at Parker Cottage if I am lucky enough to get in. Why? Because the quality, ambiance, comfort and friendly welcome is always the same. Plus, the olde worlde charm is so good for my soul, and the great breakfast sets me up for the day.
Old world charm, and very comfortably furnished with great lounge areas. Also very good location in the City Bowl. My room was great and quiet, with a very comfy bed. Pamela and her staff are very friendly and helpful. Pamela changed the date of my stay on short notice without any penalties, which I was grateful for. The breakfast exceeded my expectations.
We visited in 2019 and have a lovely stay and could not wait to get back into town, once we could travel again! We were pleased to find that the Parker Cottage's central location, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and superior breakfasts had not changed at all. The place is charming and it is near to all of the places on Kloof Street. We can get to just about anywhere in Cape Town in less than 15 minutes. They have a longstanding relationship with a Driver/guide, Chris, who was totally worth booking for a few days, including a day tour around the Cape. Parker Cottage was always ready to make meal reservations, buy online tickets for Table Mountain, etc. If you need something, just ask them! We fully recommend it as your home in Cape Town.
Parker Cottage was very comfortable - plenty of space in our room, great living room areas to sit by the fire at night with a drink for a game or chat, wonderful breakfast each day to get us started right (including a muffin and coffee on our EARLY departure day). Location was very convenient for walking to restaurants (great suggestions from the hosts) and very easy access to roads leading in and out of town for attractions. We would stay here again and have recommended it to others already.
We spent our last night in South Africa at Parker Cottage. The design, hospitality and location were perfect. It was safe and cozy with fun restaurants a short walk away. The garden was lovely and Jameson and Tomas were welcoming and informative hosts. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a a Cape Town getaway.
We spent 2 nights at Parker Cottage and were overall very pleased with the facility. The staff was very welcoming and friendly (we spoke primarily with Jameson and Pamela). The food at breakfast was excellent (Jameson said the kitchen is where magic happens!) and there was a selection. They also kindly accommodated my wife's dietary restrictions.
The room was super spacious with a very high ceiling including a fan for summer and heating for winter. The room also included a fireplace which was prepared to lite and also had spare wood.
Note: The floors are old wood so there is no being quiet when walking around. Its an old Cottage and that added to the feel.
However, the floors were super lacquered and extremely slippery. Even with bare feet we would slip and slide if we were not careful.
Sound does travel in the Cottage so visiting with young children or staying up late in the comfortable lounge area could disturb other guests.
There was no view from the window except of a fence but that was fine. The front of the Cottage has a covered place to sit with tables and chairs. There is a small garden and also a pond with 3 rather large fish.
The facility had a very secure feel with a remote front gate, second gate by the front door and also key entry. Remember Cape Town is not the safest city but we we felt very safe at the Cottage.
Water in South Africa is very precious and the Cottage advises guests to be aware of that and even provides a bucket to collect excess running water which they then use for watering the plants.
Overall a very lovely stay.
Pamela and team are so incredibly welcoming! The guest house is finished to such a high standard, design has been considered and is in keeping with its history. It's an incredibly homey and lush place to stay :)
Spent a lovely four nights at Parker Cottage. Location superb for Table Mountain and plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfasts are amazing, the fruit parfait amazing, English breakfasts and specials every morning set you up for the day. Rooms spacious with everything you need including Bluetooth sound speaker. The common lounge areas comfortable and relaxing. Small selection of beer and wine for a relax at night. This is a quiet relaxing guesthouse if you want to be up all night drinking then this won't be for you. All staff friendly and knowledgeable would recommend to anyone staying in to Cape Town
We have stayed at Parker Cottage previously and feel like it is our South African home. We love all the comforts and friendliness the entire staff exhibits to make each guess feel so special! Always a wonderful rest in cozy beds and you awake to have a fabulous breakfast. Pamela is a fabulous hostess and puts her heart and soul into serving the guests. She shares this enthusiasm with her staff and they do the same.
Pamela is a wonderful host and has the most charming and exquisitely designed rooms in the cottage. We had a lovely 1 night stay and had the most comfortable sleep throughout our long journey! It's very kid friendly and the breakfast was just delicious by the lovely garden.
If you're visiting with family and need a quite comfortable and stylish place to compliment the lovely Capetown, then look no longer.
A delightful base full of period charm from which to explore Cape Town, conveniently situated for all attractions (and the CBD) and within easy walking distance of many restaurants and bars, as well as The Company's Gardens, Mount Nelson Hotel etc.
I stayed a week. Pamela and Tomas and all the staff are personable and professional hosts, going out of their way to make you feel welcome and providing a first-class concierge service.
Breakfast on the terrace or in the garden is a delight, with a daily special dish on offer and everything freshly prepared, all served on a crisp white tablecloth. The attention to detail throughout is noticeable.
My room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the shower room impeccable. No TV (good). The two conjoined Victorian cottage are tastefully decorated and offer two lounges in which to relax, with a useful choice of travel literature available.
All in all, an excellent alternative to a bland 4* hotel.
We had a truly wonderful stay at Parker Cottage….it's a beautiful guesthouse in every way. A lovely welcome, very smart large room with extremely comfortable bed, quiet, nice bathroom with bath and shower.
It's a very old Victorian town villa set in peaceful gardens, immaculately kept with original features. The sumptuous breakfasts on the terrace are truly exceptional.
Pamela and her staff look after you so well and are so warm, friendly and professional.
We have stayed in many guesthouses in South Africa over the last 14 years and Parker Cottage is one of the best….we certainly shall be back.
Beautiful house in an excellent location - well within easy walking distance to lots of great bars and restaurants. The rooms are well appointed - elegant decoration and very comfortable and the staff on hand are extremely helpful. It's a lovely boutique hotel - highly recommend. Will def be staying there again!!
Thank you Natty and Pamela for presenting us with such a lovely holiday haven. We loved everything about the home. Especially the amazing decor, the relaxing vibes and the close proximity to town. We highly recommend it xx
Parker Cottage was a unexpected surprise. The rate is definitely not indicative of it's top class service and beautiful venue. I was blown away by the offering. Small touches that made our visit exceptional were effortlessly executed. The room was spacious and beautiful. The team are in a league of their own with customer satisfaction being their top priority. Perfectly situated with a short walk to all of Cape Town's gems in Kloof Street. I would not only recommend Parker Cottage but I will find a reason to visit again!
I cannot rate this highly enough. It is conveniently situated in a safe feeling neighbourhood in Cape Town. Our room was lovely an spacious and very clean. It has its own garden that you can sit out in and a veranda where you can take breakfast. The breakfast is very good ,ordered from one of the staff.
It is run by Pamela and Phaedra who are most welcoming and could not do enough for you. They arranged our airport transfer and a day trip to cape point which was marvellous.
It is a small guest house with a family feel not an anonymous big chain hotel group and that was its charm for us.
I would not hesitate in recommending it.
Great staff. Calm vibes and best breakfast. Very clean and calming energy in the rooms and garden. The street is quiet even though your are a short walk away from the vibey Kloof st. If you have a choice of rooms when you book, try avoid "The Kooi Pond". It is close to the security gate so you can hear it if someone enters the house. but even still this is outweigh by all the other positives. Thank you to Pamela and Jameson! My Best!
We really enjoyed our stay at Parker Cottage! Pamela is very friendly, caring and helpful. Parker Cottage is quite centrical, near down town and the central business district. We really like to recommend this accommodation.
Wish we had more time. Nice room. Clean. Laundry services were available at a very affordable rate. Close to VERY nice restaurants. Eat your heart out! Easy parking on the street. WONDERFUL breakfast. Super sweet staff all around. Tomas helped us so much with where to eat, where to go in case we didn't have plans, and what to avoid/traffic-wise. Will come back here for sure!
The room was beautiful with everything that you might need. Fluffiest robes, super soft bedding. Such a beautiful old house! Pamela and her staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. We felt very special on our wedding night! Super spoilt. Thank you!
My wife and I spent four nights at this exceptional establishment. Our reception was friendly and professional, our room very well appointed and our breakfasts scrumptious||. The cottage is very conveniently situated near many restaurants and other attractions. The owner, Pamela, and her staff, Phaedra, Thomas & Jamison all deserve feathers in their caps. We will certainly return.
We had two lovely nights there, traveling with my cousin. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, it really felt like a home from home. The rooms were spotless and comfy, bathroom was excellent and we were in the Fitzroy Room which l is at the front of the house and looks over the little pond. Breakfast was delicious with something different each morning and Phaedra was amazing at recommending where we should go / where to eat. Thanks for an amazing time all at Parker Cottage!
Me and my girlfriend had a wondeful 1-week stay at Parker Cottage. Pamela and team are very lovely and helpful. The breakfast is amazing, and the rooms very clean and likely.
We would recommend this place to everyone.
Jente & June
What a find! Staff were super friendly and remembered our names. Very helpful with directions and info. Breakfast superb and so special to be able to eat outside.
Gardens very pretty. Parker Cottage very central to both sides of the mountain. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. Absolutely recommend Parker Cottage
I am a returning visitor. Why? Because the welcome is always warm, the staff go the extra mile to ensure your stay is enjoyable, the tastefully decorated guest house - a bit of history with a modern twist - is always in top condition, the fantastic breakfast sets you up for the day, my room is well-appointed and comfortable, the veranda and garden are lovely - I know exactly what to expect and Parker Cottage always delivers. It's like visiting a treasured friend.
I'm so glad we discovered Parker Cottage. This will definitely be our home away from home when we do a sleepover in town. The friendly welcoming staff, the sweet smell of the orange blossoms as you enter the front gate, the beautiful decor, comfortable and cosy rooms and the delicious breakfast are just some of the highlights for me. We just loved our stay here. Pamela and her team are so friendly and warm. I wish them great success with this gem of a place.
Started with Chris picking us up at the airport, he was our driver for the next 4 days and we learned a lot about the town, surroundings area and the culture - Thank you my friend Chris! Check in was seamless, Phaedra was always happy, full of local knowledge and arranged everything for us including an appt for our PCR test for our next destination. EXCELLENT location, breakfast ambiance - this place is amazing!!!
We had a lovely short stay at Parker Cottage. I can definitely recommend staying there. The breakfast was amazing and everything is wonderfully decorated. Beautiful room and amenities. Thank you, and if I am in Cape Town again I will book again.
I had a great stay at Parker Guest House. I just missed 1 thing, a tv in the room to unwind after a long day will be much appreciated. Beautiful place, with great location. Hosts were perfect and all in all everything went smooth.
I can't recommend Parker Cottage highly enough. We came during a difficult time due to covid and Pamela was always quick to respond, offer solutions, or advice. Once there it was the perfect place to stay. Great room, great food, and great service from Pamela and Jameson. We would also steer anyone to make use of Chris as a guide. Wonderful mix of local knowledge and tips, and letting you go off and explore on your own. We can't wait to go back.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff eager to help with anything you need, perfect location in central Cape Town, walking distance to everything. Great breakfast, incredibly comfortable bed, too. I'll gladly stay here again. Thank you!
Parker Cottage made our visit to Cape Town area so special. Pamela, the owner, has created a wonderful home away from home for her guests. It's an ideal B&B experience, located in a safe convenient part of town, so can easily visit all Cape Town has to offer. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, the breakfasts delicious and plentiful (can keep you full all day), the staff are great and the home & garden beautiful. Pamela provides all you need for a great stay! The help she provided us was invaluable - wonderful dinner reservations, tickets, advice on places to visit, anything we needed. She connected us with Chris for private tour around the peninsula and wine country. Wow! We saw and learned so much - fantastic! Highly recommend booking Chris and staying at Parker Cottage - can't go wrong. We WILL be back! Thanks Pamela!
We stayed 5 nights at Parker Cottage and it was a wonderful start to our first trip to South Africa. Parker Cottage is a stunning property set in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of the city centre. There are several excellent restaurants nearby. We were collected at the airport by their driver and then met by Pamela at the property; she was very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. Our room (Von Veh Room) was beautifully decorated with everything you could need. The breakfasts, served outside, were delicious. There was plenty of choice and a special served every day. An honesty bar, in a communal area, is provided with soft drinks, water, wine, beer and snacks. You can also make yourself a hot drink (coffee machines are in the rooms). There is plenty of space to relax with two large lounges and the garden area is delightful. The staff at Parker Cottage are outstanding: Pamela, Phaedra, Tomas and the rest of the team are so friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a fantastic time. I would not hesitate to recommend Parker Cottage; we will definitely be back!
We stayed four nights at Parker Cottage and enjoyed every minute. Our room was lovely and breakfast each day was more than ample - and delicious. But more than that, it is the ownership and staff who make Parker Cottage so special. From the warm welcome we received, to the concern expressed when my wife was ill, everyone went above and beyond. Thanks so much to Pamela and her team. We would not hesitate to return to Parker Cottage and most certainly recommend this property.
We spent a wonderful three nights at this lovely B&B in central Cape Town. From the pre-arranged airport pick-up through to our departure, everything was perfect. The Victorian property and its garden is beautiful. Our room (7), with its soaring ceilings was comfortable, spotless, and quiet and the spacious bathroom had all the expected amenities. We do not watch television on holiday and were happy the room did not have one (on booking, you can request one be put into your room). Breakfast served outside during our visit, was very special: the menu included yoghurt, granola and fruit, juice, coffee/tea plus hot dishes or cheese and cold cuts platter, a different special every day, toast plus a daily bakery offering. Of course, much more food that we could manage, but it was all delicious! We appreciated (and used) the honesty bar and the range of items available: we find this much better than an in-room mini bar. There are also some things on display in the common areas that are for sale: the limited edition artwork purchased just went on our walls yesterday and are a wonderful reminder of our visit. We found the location great, an easy stroll into the city centre, good restaurants a few blocks away, and a pleasant walk to the V&A Waterfront. As advised, we did Uber back at night. Our day trip to the Cape and transfer to Franschhoek were organised for us and as well as being a great driver, Chris was very engaging and made these fun, informative and memorable. The staff elevate the experience for staying here: welcoming, helpful, and interested in their guests and guiding them to make the most of their visit to Cape Town. The perfect stay!
Very impressed from the word go. Staff attentive and nothing was to much trouble, they went over and above to make our holiday stress free and memorable. The rooms were very good the attention to detail with little things made a difference. The public rooms were beautifully decorated complimented the building. The breakfasts were gorgeous and filling.
We would have no hesitation on recommending Parker Cottage.
The house is well located, close to restaurants and activities. The garden, house shared areas and guest rooms are delightfuly charming. The breakfast is really very very nice. The staff is extremely dedicated to satisfy the guests expectations. They are very ressourceful and their advice has always been excellent (both while planning our holiday and once in Capetown). Thanks Pamela, Phoedra and Tomas!
The very best place we stayed on our trio to South Africa. The staff were wonderful arranging daytrips and taxi's and red bus tickets on request with lots of helpful tips. Breakfasts were of exceptional quality taken on the veranda, We relly loved this B & B and recommend to all.
Parker Cottage is all what previous reviewers have written. We have stayed there several times and it only seems to improve! Staff are very helpful and attentive. Always managing to accommodate! What more can I add !
great location, lovely house, wonderful team, delicious food. Really enjoyed our stay here, we were well looked after and the location is perfect dor exploring cape town felt very safe and close by to good restaurants.
We had high expectations of Parker Cottage, based on the reviews we had read, and we were not disappointed.
Our room and ensuite bathroom were extremely clean and very comfortable. Phaedra welcomed us, showed us around the house and gave all the necessary explanations. All the staff we came into contact with over our week's stay were very polite, friendly and helpful.
We loved having the Nespresso machine in our room but actually used the guest kitchenette most often - for making tea (and accessing the lovely supply of biscuits!) and getting cold drinks from the honesty-bar fridge. Having the ability to make a cup of tea or access a chilled drink at any time of day or night is a big plus, especially when it's hot.
Breakfasts were a real treat and set us up for the day. We found that after the Parker Cottage breakfast we just needed a little snack during the day before going out for dinner in the evening. We liked the fact that there were restaurants in the vicinity, to which we could walk, but we also sometimes went further afield and got an Uber back late in the evening.
We did have a hire car and were glad that Parker Cottage had secure parking for it opposite the house. We used it for trips out of the city but tended to walk/get a taxi within the city to save the hassle of city driving and finding suitable car parking etc.
We loved the styling of the house; our beautifully appointed room; the pleasant personnel; the fact that we felt safe both in Parker Cottage and while coming to and fro. We disliked: nothing! Honestly, there was nothing to dislike.
What a truly wonderful stay we had at Parker Cottage. Everything was perfect. We travel a lot and as a manager in the hotel indrustruy we are very critical, we can say that we really enjoyed this accommodation. Why? It started with breakfast. Witch is of very good quality and personal attention. We had breakfast on their lovely porch. They gave us a lot of good advice about the area and what to do. Besides this we had the oppertunity to talk with the owner about the city and the country. The rooms are amazing. Clean, beautiful and very comfortable. After a journey through South Africa, we really had the change to relax and feel at home. Team of Parker Cottage, thank you very much again. You can be really proud of what you guys have over there. I will recommend this place to everybody who goes to Kaapstad. Hopefully we will meet again.
Another perfect stay at the Parker Cottage - thank you to Pamela, Tomas, Phaedra, and the whole staff team for making me feel so at home during my five nights in Cape Town. Each morning I'd linger on the porch after the delicious homemade breakfast, watching the clouds give way to blue skies... hard to imagine a better way to start a Cape Town day. The neighborhood is beautiful too - quiet, charming, and a short walk from the city centre (without being in the thick of things)... and having a historic local hangout like the Blue Cafe only two blocks away makes Parker Cottage's location unbeatable. Look no further!
We love Parker Cottage. This was our second stay and we can't say enough about how great the place is. The rooms are beautiful and quiet. Do your research (which the staff can assist with) - the smaller rooms are great, but for longer stays we enjoy those that are more spacious. The staff is incredible - they are quick to respond to emails in advance of visits, and are solely focused on ensuring that their guests are well cared for during their time on property. Whatever you do, don't miss the breakfasts! The location is convenient and in a pretty area of the city. Trust the staff to book tours for you - the guides they work with are incredible (we've done multiple outings with Chris and Ron) and they can tailor any kind of activity to fit your preference.
We can highly recommend to stay at Parker Cottage!
Awesome crew, best breakfast and a lovely location.
The room was clean with lots of love for the details. Also the rest of the Building was very stylish and we felt very comfortable. It is located close to the most important stops on Capetown.
My husband and I had an amazing time at Parker Cottage. They facilitated day tours, rental car, laundry, everything we needed! The rooms were sparking clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend this place!
Parker Cottage was the final stop on our three-week tour of South Africa. Martha had saved the best for last. Parker Cottage is a very comfortable, friendly and delightful guest house. Proprietors Pamela and Tomas provide tour tips, friendly banter and a great breakfast. It is amazing to watch them seamlessly slip from English to German to Afrikaans. They provide an honor bar with wines and liquors. The rooms were very comfortable – excellent beds, accommodating bath and comfortable chairs. The public areas downstairs are both inside and outside and very comfortable. We found Parker Cottage very convenient to get to restaurants and the wharf area. I'd much rather stay with Pamela and Tomas that at a hotel.
Very lovely and comfortable stay in Cape Town City. Very convenient location. Friendly and welcoming staff- always willing to help. Tasty breakfast every morning which set us up well for the day! Very grateful to Pamela and her wonderful team for helping to make our stay in Cape Town so memorable. We will definitely return here and highly recommend to all!
Although I would like to think this is just MY special place to stay I realize that I really should share this with other fortunate people who are visiting Cape Town. I love everything about 3 Carstens St. The history is fascinating of how the house (s) came to be, but the people who greet, serve and offer their friendship to each guest is really the reason I keep coming back and back again. The Rooms are all charming, very clean, and comfortable. Staying here is like stepping back in time to a gentler age. And the breakfasts are ourtstanding --- not only delicious but the interaction with the cheerful staff is a great way to start the day.
Wonderful place , harmony is the best word to define the cottage... breakfast is incredible
Professional manager and located near downtown you can go on walk everywhere.
Many thanks
Spent 5 days in Parker Cottage and it was a truly memorable stay from the moment we were welcomed by Tomas and Parker Cottage team , the breakfasts were a delight and kept us full for our adventures, the room was spacious and clean and the location was close to all attractions.. would highly recommend Parker Cottage to all and will definitely use as base if back in Cape Town again
My wife and I had wrapped an African safari and needed a place to unwind. We booked into Parker Cottage. Pam and her staff were simply the greatest. The rooms, the ambiance, the food, the friendly service, in walking distance to a few great restaurants, just everything. FANTASTIC. We highly recommend Parker Cottage when visiting Cape Town.
An excellent and welcoming place to stay in Cape Town. Pamela, Thomas and driver Chris made our first-time 4-night stay at Parker Cottage a great introduction to South Africa. Great breakfasts and the tours by Chris to the wine valley and south cape were educational and personalized.
This is a wonderful, well located guesthouse in a very comfortable part of CT. Besides comfort and quiet and delicious breakfasts Phaedra, Thomas and Pam took extraordinary care of us through out! Thanks
We had a wonderful stay at the Parker Cottage. All the reviews we read were spot on. The lovely house was centrally located. We could walk to many locations. The hop on/off bus was just a couple of blocks away. There were great restaurants in the area too! And always a jaw dropping view of Table Mountain.
The decor was very soothing and welcoming. It felt like you were visiting friends. Loved hanging out in one of the living rooms enjoying a bottle of wine before heading out to dinner. Breakfast outside in the gorgeous gardens was a highlight. Pamela clearly takes breakfast seriously. Often we skipped lunch. :-) They were also very accommodating to my being gluten free. I was super spoiled with the incredibly delicious GF muffins every morning.
The rooms were very well decorated and had every convenience needed.
The staff as everyone mentioned are really special. Very friendly and warm. Always cheerful and always there to lend a hand. They seem to know what you needed before you did. :-)
Chris picked us at the airport and took great care to get us situated. I would definitely recommend Chris for an airport transfer and his company for any excursions. Our day trip to the winelands was a lot of fun with Ron. And what luck - he's a historian too. We learned while having a great time.
It was a treat to stay at the Parker Cottage and I would not hesitate to stay there again and refer my friends and family too. It's the personal touch and attention that really makes a stay! Thank you for making our first visit special!
A real gem. Beautiful guest house with excellent service - and the breakfast is outstanding. Pamela and her team provide an outstanding venue and service. The guest house is very centrally situated in the beautiful suburb of Tamboerskloof. Highly recommended
One thing that makes Parker Cottage so special is the caring staff. I dropped my camera which cracked the lens filter. But I also couldn't unscrew the filter to remove it. This all happened on a Sunday, we had a tour at 9:00 am the next day, so no time to get to a camera store. The staff figured out when a store nearby would open, and took my camera there, had it fixed, and returned it to me as good as new while I ate breakfast and made the 9:00 tour. This was amazing - I can't imagine any typical hotel doing the same for a guest. And oh yes, breakfasts are fabulous!
This was our 2nd time staying at Parker Cottage. Fantastic service and accommodations. Tomas at the front desk is very good. Took care of scheduling tours, transportation and dinner reservations. Highly recommend Parker Cottage
We were first timers to South Africa looking for friendly accommodation offering a comfy bed, good location and local travel advice. We couldn't have chosen a more suitable B & B, being a few minutes drive from the V & A and Table Mountain.
Our room was the Fitzroy room with a king bed. Stylishly decorated, this room was a joy to stay in for the week and outside our quiet room there was a lovely communal sitting room.
Breakfast was always scrumptious and whipped up in a very short time which is helpful if you need to start your day early. On our last day we had a flight to catch and really appreciated an early breakfast. Thanks to all the kitchen and dining staff for doing such a wonderful job during our stay.
Pamela, Tomas and Phaedra kindly booked any tours for us which saved us a lot of bother and gave us tips on the local area. Nothing was too much trouble. Also they arranged our airport transfers and car rental which ticked more boxes (i.e. we didn't need to do it!). Their website has some suggested day tours - great for first timers like us.
This is a truly beautiful establishment, exceptionally managed and we can thoroughly recommend Parker Cottage to anyone needing accommodation in Cape Town.
We will always have happy memories of our stay there - thanks Parker Cottage Team!
Our stay at the Parker Cottage was truly enjoyable. From the moment we arrived until our departure the service was excellent. Tomas greeted us with a glass of wine and detailed information about the Cottage. The entire staff was extremely warm and accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. They were happy to assist with any needs we had from making dinner reservations to printing out our boarding passes for our flights out of Cape Town. There was nothing too small for them to take care of for us.
The location is great, only ten minutes to downtown Cape Town or Table Mountain, 15 minutes to camps bay and the beaches. and 45 minutes to Cape Point. While we were there the cottage had many guests so our breakfasts included wonderful conversations and exchange of ideas of places to visit. We will recommend the Parker Cottage to anyone we know going to Cape Town.
We arrived around 10pm and were greeted by Pam. She made us feel welcome and allowed us to quickly get some rest. The next morning she offered many suggestions for dinner, things to do, where to go and how to get there. Her staff was all exceptional, from breakfast to making reservations in another town for us for dinner. The house is well maintained and the bed was very comfy. Highly recommended!!!!
Parker Cottage was recommended to me by a friend because of their outstanding hospitality and legendary breakfasts. Legendary and outstanding, indeed it was. From remembering our breakfast preferences to scheduling tours and dinner reservations, Pamela and her entire team at Parker Cottage are world class. They also arranged a few private day tours for us with their in house drivers. We had such fun - I miss Carole already!
The cottage itself is just beautiful and we enjoyed being by the fire a few nights we were there. I just cannot recommend this inn highly enough.
Parker Cottage is excellent in many ways. Great location in the city centre, lots of nice eateries are at a walking distance. Pamela, the owner and her property managers, Tomas and Phaedra, were all so charming and helpful. Tomas gave us some great tips on dining out! Also the breakfast here is first rate, best start of the day. Our room was recently refurbished and was quite comfortable to sleep in.
Their website is a wealth of information. I have been to Cape Town before and when I looked at their suggested itineraries, I could sense that those are solid options. We based most of our travel from it. This is a great first stop in Cape Town. Makes you feel welcomed and I cant recommend them enough!
You're going to love this place! Rooms were clean and comfortable and the big plush king-size bed was the best of the 13 different locations we stayed at over the month in Africa. The staff was excellent and always willing to help in any way they can. Food was first rate in the dining room (with a warm crackling fire too). The location was very close to the center of town so we could walk to a number of restaurants or entertainment.
On our last night there part of the hotel lost power due to a wind storm and consequently we lost the heater in our room. We really didn't mind but the hotel owner was so concerned she wanted to give us another room. It just added to our adventurous story. Power came back on a bit later and all was well. We'd definitely stay there again!
As a Fair Trade Tourism certified project we love to recommend Parker Cottage to our guests and visitors when staying over in Cape Town as we always get 100% positive feed back, both from holiday and business travellers. And again the guest we booked in lately at Parker Cottage was amazed by the warm welcome in a family atmosphere, the spotless service and the flexibility of Pamela Nayler and her dedicated team when it comes to special wishes. We highly recommend this lovingly restored accommodation in a beautiful, safe area near Table Mountain.
Parker Cottage was a fantastic choice for a place to stay for our first visit to Cape Town. After a stressful drive (first time left hand driving...) we were relieved to find the cottage and be greeted welcomely by the staff. Very conveniently located for exploring the city, although I would advise reconsidering a rental car if you don't need one, we were very happy to keep ours parked for a couple days while we uber-ed and took the hop-on hop-off bus (which the stop is right down the street from this place) around the city.
As for the accommodations themselves, no complaints whatsoever. Fantastic choice of breakfast options each morning. Rooms very comfortable. Available laundry service if you need it. The hosts were so helpful with their recommendations for navigating the city! Made a huge difference in our overall Cape Town experience.
From our very first email contact with the delightful owners, we knew that we were in good hands. They even helped arrange our rental cars and gave us good advice regarding our trip planning. Friendly, responsive and efficient service greeted us then and continued throughout our stay. The guest house is centrally located in Cape Town, permitting fast and cheap Ubers to wherever you want to go. They booked our tickets for the cable car up Table Mountain, the ferry for Robbin Island, and a private car to do a day trip to the Cape Peninsula and were always ready with suggestions for dining out.
Located in a lovely garden on a quiet street, the beautifully decorated place felt like an elegant and warm home. The staff was so welcoming, yet unobtrusive, never far way and ready to meet our every request. The room cleanliness was unsurpassed in our 5-week trip through South Africa and it was airy, well-appointed and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The only thing less than perfect were the two single mattresses that were pushed together to make a large king-sized bed. They were of different firmnesses and were not the most comfortable (we could feel a ridge where they meet in the center). However, we slept fine, but based on the rest of our experience there, we expected divine...
In our 5 weeks of non-stop "full English breakfasts" eaten across the country, Parker Cottage stands above them all with an inventive, delicious and beautifully presented breakfast menu (with several different menu choices every day - no two days were the same). While it would be worth staying there just for the breakfast, the overall experience is what will bring us back to Parker Cottage the very next time we come to Cape Town. We made a great choice staying there and recommend it to you!
Our stay at Parker Cottage was wonderful. It was the perfect quiet respite from the city, with beautiful rooms and living rooms that are ideal for relaxing. On a chilly night, the fireplace in the living room was so cozy. Its location in Tamboerskloof is excellent, within walking distance from a variety of nearby restaurants. Pamela and the rest of the staff were so gracious, helpful, and friendly - we felt so at ease and every request or question of ours was promptly addressed. They had excellent suggestions of how to structure our time in Cape Town and work with a wonderful driving company that took us around for two different day tours, each a great experience. The attention to making you feel at home and taking care of every wish is exquisite. In addition, we met other interesting travelers there and had wonderful conversations with them around the dining table and in the living room. We couldn't recommend Parker Cottage more highly!
Parker Cottage, Tamboerskloof , is in a wonderful position with Table Mountain up the hill behind the cottage. Our room was charming (although being news freaks we had to ask for a TV to be put in the room - book one when making your reservation). The management and staff are all extremely helpful: advice on eating out (lots of very good restaurants/cafes nearby; places to visit; help with transport, etc. Must also mention the terrific breakfasts - served on the terrace by (the always smiling Jameson). The city centre is an easy walk from Carsten Street and both the Hop-on/off and the Myciti buses have stops nearby. This was our third visit to Cape Town and we will certainly be back.
My partner and I spent a lovely, heart warming night at Parker Cottage. The ambience, attention to detail, service, friendliness and all round hospitality was exquisite. Recommend to anyone looking for a home from home stay in Cape Town.
If I could I’ve another star I would. Parker Cottage redefines hospitality. I loved the place and the attention to detail...including an extraordinary breakfast served on the veranda overlooking the gardens. and koi pond. But the second day there, pneumonia kicked in and I was in pretty bad shape...luckily I was at Parker Cottage where they looked after me as only close family might..getting me to Urgent Care, running to the pharmacy, shopping and cooking two extra meals daily, monitoring medication schedules, re-arranging my flight itinerary and transportation to get me home as soon as it was safe for me to fly...all the while maintaining constant communication with my family. I can’t say enough about the owner and her staff...what could have been a miserable experience was made better by their kindness and devotion to my safety and comfort. Extraordinary!
We arrived to a beautiful clean property with Thomas giving us lots of helpful info. The bed was
comfortable, the
room was roomy and of a good temperature.
Jameson was so helpful and friendly as were the
other staff
members. The breakfast were amazing especially the fruit compot. We will be back.
It was our second stay at Parker Cottage and we loved it again! The rooms are amazing and the service is awesome! A very heartly ambience & perfect breakfast. We will definitely come again! Thank you very much!
This was our second visit and again a great stay, location is perfect in the City Bowl, different owners this time but the same staff, nothing too much trouble, the stairs are quite steep though, and if people have mobility issues I suggest they request a ground floor room.
This extraordinary antique house is carefully renovated and provides an excellent location. The hosts and the service is perfect. We enjoyed the best breakfast we had on our journey. Even the checkin for our flight back home was part of the service. A little footwalk away are the best restaurants and a taxi to the harbor takes 10 minutes. A wonderful ending of our (g-)adventure in southern Africa. Thanks for everything - we´ll be back!!!
Parker cottage is wonderful and full of character, lovely rooms, excellent breakfast and staff. Location is near to table mountain and within walking distance (100M) of several nice bars and restaurants. I loved the place and would definitely go again. The owner is wonderful and could not be more helpful. we loved it!!!!!
We stayed with our two daughters in Parker Cottage. The location is very convenient- very close to the city center, restaurants, bars, etc. The breakfast and service were outstanding. Very competent and friendly personal.
Great choice of breakfasts, all very delicious, especially the breakfast of the day. Well designed and nicely decorated rooms. Extremely attentive and friendly staff! Will go there definitively again.
Thank you Pamela, Tomas and all staff for a fantastic stay. Everything ran like clockwork, accommodation superb, breakfast simply beautiful and your help whilst booking was so appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble. The Cape Point day trip with Ron was fabulous too and really informative.
What a find! Beautifully restored house, immaculately furnished, best bed we have slept in. Pamela and Tomas, supported by their team, were fabulous hosts. Excellent breakfasts, great advice on the surrounds, lovely little garden. Will definitely find our way back here again!
We stayed four nights in this is an exceptional boutique guest house, in a super location with very helpful, friendly staff. The breakfasts were delicious, with a "special" available each morning. We were given some excellent advice regarding what to see and when to go which helped us to get the most out of our stay in Cape Town.
Exceptional for location, comfort, food, value and above all customer service. We have just had a delightful 4-night stay in this beautiful boutique style guest house. In short, the whole experience was flawless.
A charming colonial house in a residential and central area, very well put up to date. Simple and warm welcoming, spacious and confortable bedrooms, superb breakfast in the garden. Pick up at the airport. A place to recommend.
I made the booking on behalf of my 91 yr old uncle who was travelling from Johannesburg, and was he treated well! Charming guest house, great location and a breakfast out of this world. Highly recommended!
Owner Pamela and managers Tomas and Phaedra were all exceptional in their friendliness and helpfulness--several times anticipating needs and taking the initiative on our behalf rather than being asked. Theirs was a level of service we seldom see. They helped us with advice, tickets to attractions, and dinner reservations. As everyone who has stayed at Parker Cottage knows, the breakfasts are outstanding, from the delicious fruit parfaits through the main courses, all served by capable staff. We just got home, but we're already recommending the Parker Cottage to friends.
We were recommended Parker Cottage by some friends. Pamela & her team were extremely welcoming & helpful. The room we had was well appointed and very spacious. The breakfast was amazing too. Would definitely stay there again.
My wife and I had a week long stay at Parker Cottage and had a wonderful time there. The place has a nice location, easy to get to and from. We always felt welcome. The staff did their utmost to help and assist us. Their advice was superb. Very nice breakfast and the staff were really friendly so we felt at home all the time. No doubt this will be were we stay next time in Cape Town.
From the welcome by Tomas, it was evident that Parker’s was special. The people make it so-
whether it’s Phaedra
helping with information and kindness, Donovan’s welcoming smile, Jameson’s morning greeting and
attentiveness, or
the back room staff in their work to provide a brilliant breakfast and keeping the place
clean..... Parker’s is
THE place to stay in Cape Town. The owner Pamela should be immensely proud of her business and
the
staff.
Recommendations should be followed to get the most out of Cape Town. In our case
Pamela and Tomas made
recommendations which enhanced our experience enormously.
I could wax lyrical about the
food...
We can’t
recommend this place enough, and 7* would be an understatement!
Thanks for a great stay-
the only negative is
that the bar had been set so high we’ll have trouble matching it on the remainder of our
travels. Thanks! Tricia
and Steve x
This hotel had a perfect location, close to very good restaurants. The staff were always the best, great service and breakfast to die for. Beautiful rooms and a garden where we enjoyed our evenings with a glass wine, Checkers, books and planning our days in Cape Town
Another amazing stay(our second) at Parker Cottage!A warm welcome from Tomas on arrival with lots of tips on where to eat drink and visit during our 2 day stay in Cape Town.Beautiful rooms and great service from friendly staff- nothing was too much trouble. Amazing breakfasts! We will be back!!
We stayed at Parker Cottage for six days in January 2019. The hosts and staff are very friendly and relaxed, the rooms cosy and clean, and the breakfast is excellent. The place is calm although near to city life in City Bowl. You can walk to visit Long Street or Waterfront or Bo Kaap and you find very good restaurants nearby on Bree Street. Table Mountain cable is round the corner - Parker Cottage is ideally located when you like to explore Cape Town and surroundings.
We made our bookings long in advance and asked for help planning a trip around the garden route. By doing this we hoped for a stressless vacation and .. we were right to do so.
Parker Cottage is a gem, a wonderful place to stay with lovely, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is out of this world and a great way to slowly ease into the day.
Pamela, Tomas and the other staff went out of their way to secure us dinner bookings at great restaurants nearby.
They also arranged all the B&B for our 8 day round trip along the garden route and each place was fantastic.
After returning to Capetown and checking-in again, it felt like coming home. Tomorrow we will fly back to Europe after what has been a fantastic vacation thanks the team at Parker Cottage.
We were referred to Parker Cottage by my sister, who stayed there 2 years ago. Loved Pamela, all her staff, the location and the accommodation. Everything was perfect. We stayed in the Family Cottage on the ground floor at the back because there were 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 9). It was very quiet, and the rooms had all the amenities you would want or need. Both rooms had their own ensuites. We were a 5 minute walk from several family friendly restaurants, an easy 20 minute walk to downtown Cape Town and the V&A Waterfront, and a 10 minute Uber ride from the Table Mountain gondola. We also booked our airport transfers to two day tours through Parkers, and their driver/guides Chris & Paul were both exceptional. We will be back!
what should we write?when everything is so perfect and beautifulAlso the location and surroundings are safe and really convenientPamela organized everything according to our wishes. Thanks to Pamela and the whole teamWe are coming back !!!...... oh yes .... the breakfast ..... on the terrace tasted better than in 5stars hotels ... quiet and comfortable, the best way to start the dayThank you for everything
Everything was perfect during our stay! The staff is very nice, rooms are great and the breakfast is awesome. You can feel this place is run with a lot of passion. For us young people the trust-bar was a plus also ;)
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Parker Cottage. It is very quiet, quaint, beautifully decorated, and the staff are wonderful—especially Jameson, who served us breakfast every morning. The complementary five-course breakfast was amazing! Management and office staff (Pamela, Tom, and Phaedra) were also great.
The cottage is a very short and safe walk to several dining and shopping options off Kloof Street. You can also easily Uber around to further destinations, which is what we did. They kindly arranged excursions and purchased the City Sightseeing Bus tickets for us, which were charged to the room (at cost) in the end. Their driver, Chris, took us on a private Winelands tour for a very reasonable price and was informative and friendly. We also booked Chris for our airport transfers.
We stayed in the Koi Pond room and the Patterson room, both were lovely, but the Patterson room was about 50% larger. All of the other rooms looked very nice as well. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend you do too!
If your reading this post, you have found one of Cape Town's best in class personal B&B's. Being a traveler who live outside Africa, safety, hot water, cleanliness is top priority. Parker Cottage delivered this plus much more. The owner, Pamela is totally invested in ensuring your time at Parker is one of the best experiences you have. The orientation and fair value wrap around services, including tours, is a great for ensuring guest know what's available. The staff were personable, sweet, and excellent at what they do. The breakfast, Lawd Have Mercy, was amazing. I could never eat as much at home and hope to do anything of use, but at Parker Cottage, my stomach found space. We stayed in the family suite, which was amazing. Lastly, our tour guide Chris who grew up in District 6 during the Apartheid period gave a personal touch to our time touring the Cape Peninsula. He is a historian at heart. Pamela, thank you for keeping alive such a wonderful house, garden, sitting area and overall space right in the heart of the happenings. Blessings Forever More! ~Dr. C.
We have been to Parker Cottage already the second time after our first stay in 2014.This time we brought our little daughter (6 months) with us and everything went perfectly at this place. The staff is very helpful and nice. Breakfast is simply awesome, espacially if you can enjoy it on the lovely terrace or in the garden during summer. The bed is totally comfortable, we slept like in heaven
Beautifully decorated B&B, walking distance to Kloof street and ubers were always available within 5mins. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and the breakfasts are absolutely delicious! What a treat. Bedrooms are small but more than adequate and beautifully decorated with all you need and more. Thank you for a lovely stay.
So enjoyed our stay, really a tranquil setting in the bustle of that part of Cape Town. And the friendliness?....Top drawer. The breakfast was a wonderful way to start the way, relaxing in the garden - don't rush it, take your time and unwind in to the day. Would definitely go back, thanks everyone there!
Parkers Cottage was recommended to us and it certainly lived up to it's reputation. Lovely room, great service and what a delicious breakfast. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, Honesty bar was a welcome touch. Great safe location for exploring Cape Town and surrounding area. We certainly cannot rate PC highly enough and will most definitely be recommending to friends and is on our list to re-visit next time we are in Cape Town.
Beautiful place to stay! I have already recommended it to friends and family visiting South Africa next year. Delicious breakfast, really friendly staff and great location. A oasis in a bustling city!
I have stayed at Parker Cottage several times, and love it every time. The rooms are fantastic- spacious, beautiful decorated and with everything you need. It’s in a safe, quiet neighbourhood close to Long Street etc, and all the staff are wonderful. Highly recommended and looking forward to coming back next time.
We have stayed at Parker Cottage many time and the reason for coming back again and again is that it’s simply the best. The rooms are outstanding and the staff incomparable. The breakfast is excellent certainly one of the best I’ve ever had. I can highly recommend Parker Cottage.
I discovered Parker Cottage on TripAdvisor and thank past reviewers for their recommendations. It is a delightful place to stay in Cape Town and is convenient for exploring the Mother City. The entire staff is committed to providing great service and warm hospitality. The breakfast on the front porch is a wonderful way to start the day. The freshly baked muffins, the fruit parfait and the chef's daily special reflect the Parker Cottage's focus on making your stay memorable.
Each room is decorated differently. We had the opportunity to stay two nights in one room, then another room the third night due to a previous reservation. That allowed us to experience two rooms. Both were delightful and spotless. The owner, Pamela Nayler, is obviously proud of Parker Cottage and is very accommodating. We arrived after hours due to an evening flight from Johannesburg, and they couldn't have been nicer about arranging to provide access to our room.
There are good restaurants a short walk away. The neighborhood is safe. It was easy to use Uber here.
Thanks for a great stay, and thanks to Pamela for setting high standards and delivering on them. We hope to return in the near future. We miss your daily welcome at breakfast.
We loved Parker Cottage from our first welcome drink. The house is decorated so comfortably and tastefully, the rooms are cosy yet luxurious, the breakfast choices are many and delicious and there are lovely Rain products in the shower. The staff team all seem cheery and on the ball. The only downside is that on returning home from Parker Cottage you may yearn for a complete home makeover (but that could be just me).
I stayed at this lovely place for a week and they spoiled me. I didn't want to leave. The staff is warm and like family. Greeted daily with a smile and a hug. Miss you already. Thank You for making my stay extra special.
A beautiful guest house in a very safe neighborhood. You can walk to town center, many restaurants and bars in walking distance even at night. Big room big bathroom very good amenities. Breakfast is delicious every day a new surprise. The food is very high quality and the plate look like a picture. The managers (Thomas and Phadera) behave like they are your best friends taking care of you with advice, booking and reductions.Cris a wonderful guide – we book a tour that was nice and educated – Don't miss it. We even book a car thru Parker that was very convenience and in good price. Their website has all the information you need for your trip.Like I said staying with Parker Cottage was the best decision we made !
My husband and I are still talking about the amazing breakfasts at Parker Cottage! Our room was lovely with a view of the koi pond. Tomas and Phaedra were very helpful in showing us around the property and where to go in the neighborhood. Also in a great location - near shops, bars, and restaurants on Kloof Street and thereabouts. The fireplaces were a nice touch, too! Highly recommended.
We loved this place and the owner. If we return to Cape Town we will definitely stay at Parker Cottage again. The breakfasts were to die for with wonderful omelettes and other choices. The place is as charming a place as you can imagine.
My wife and I and our son and daughter-in-law visited Capetown for 4 nights in September. As an alternative to the touristy large hotel chose Parker Cottage. We were delighted with our choice! Very friendly, and professional staff, and super service and delicious breakfasts! Our rooms with king sized beds were charming, comfortable, and quiet. The seating areas, both inside, and out were delightful spots for wine, or a coffee. Thomas, Phaedra, and Pamela, were all super at suggestions, and for arranging transportation, dining, and a day in the Wine Country. Chris, and his staff were also outstanding. Staying here was like visiting friends. We enjoyed meeting and engaging these fine folks and other guests as well.If you enjoy an upscale but not pretentious B&B or cottage experience, parker is a great choice. Convenient location, and either a short walk or taxi to restaurants, shops, parks, and other attractions. We really enjoyed Capetown and would recommend parker Cottage as a good choice
We stayed for four nights in lovely Parker's Cottage and would highly recommend it. It's the perfect high end B&B experience with beautiful rooms, big comfortable beds, great water pressure (and temp) and wonderful breakfast! The staff were great and advised on restaurants, transport, and anything else we needed. It was in an excellent location and the wifi was strong! Nice wines for happy hour, and beautiful common areas with fireplaces and romantic lighting. Only a 15 minute cab ride to the waterfront, wharf, camps bay, it's close to it all! We'll be back. :)
Large spacious rooms, beautifully decorated, super delicious large and generous breakfasts, very helpful and friendly staff. A washing service is proved for a nominal cost. Located within walking distance of great restaurants. Well done to owner Pamela and her excellent team
Definitely a comfortable lovely place to rest your head and regroup while visiting CapeTown and environs. Highly recommend! Great location. Was a great "home" base -- near good restaurants. Paula and her staff were knowledgable and VERY helpful.
Staying at Parker Cottage was an absolute joy! The accommodations were superior and the location in Cape Town was ideal. This is a absolutely beautiful property. However, the real beauty of this place is its people! The owner and staff ensure that guests are treated like family and your every need is met. The service they provided during my two week stay exceeded all of my expectations. What I appreciated most was how the owner, Pam, interacted with her staff. The respect and admiration she has for each and every person is commendable. I highly recommend Parker Cottage for your stay in Cape Town!
We had an amazing stay in Parker Cottage - everyone was friendly, helpful and the breakfast was amazing. The property is so beautiful and impeccably clean. We loved the great restaurants, bars and shops in walking distance, and the view of Table Mountain when you step outside is spectacular. It was the perfect start to our honeymoon and I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Cape Town!
Parker Cottage is a wonderful B&B, situated on the edge of Cape Town within an easy walk of the town center and in a quiet neighborhood with a nice array of interesting restaurants also within an easy walk. The Parker Cottage house is lovely in every respect. Our room (I was traveling with a neighbor and friend) was light and spacious, the breakfasts were amazing, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the library in the sitting room areas which was stocked with all sorts of books on Cape Town and South Africa. Phaedra and Thomas were also extremely helpful in making arrangements that accommodated our interests, including tickets to Robben Island, a Peninsula tour, etc. Cannot recommend Parker highly enough!
Our stay at the Parker Cottage was fantastic. All the staff including Tomas, Jameson, Chris and the owner, Pamela were very warm and welcoming. Tomas and Chris were very helpful in our daily activities, tours and restaurant selections. The breakfasts were amazing. The rooms are well maintained. Thanks to all of you at Parker Cottage!
We stayed at Parker Cottage for 3 nights in June 2018. The B&B is tastefully decorated - our room (we think it was rm. #4) at the top of the stairs was small, but ok. The only problem with the room was the heater in the wall that kept making a clicking sound - we informed the manager but it was not fixed - so we presumed that it couldn’t be fixed. The breakfast was terrific - the breakfast parfait in particular with many varied fruits, yoghurt and museli. The cooked breakfast was excellent too. Jamieson the waiter was enthusiastic - cheerful and helpful.
My daughter and I, after pouring over hotel reviews and trying to decipher the best area to stay in, finally choose Parker Cottage. It is conveniently situated in a homey neighborhood close to several good restaurants and the base of Table Mountain. We enjoyed the comfortable and tastefully decorated room and especially enjoyed the inviting sitting areas where we had a glass of South African wine with other guests in the evening. Breakfasts were more than delicious and there was so much food we only needed a small bite for lunch. The staff is warm and welcoming, and Tomas gave us good, spot on advice about watching the cloud cover so we could get to the top of Table Mountain for a fantastic view. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, if you are looking for a reasonably priced bed and breakfast in a safe neighborhood with helpful staff and good food, stay here!
We stayed here again after our visit last year which was so memorable and yet again we had a great few days enjoying the super hospitality offered here. Lovely friendly welcome with drink, very comfortable room finished to a really high standard and bathroom with everything you could need. The whole property is extremely well presented, comfortable and welcoming. It is lovely to sit on the veranda and relax and enjoy the surroundings. Every breakfast here is a joy with a great selection on offer both plentiful and delicious and you can take your time to enjoy the experience to set you up for the day. Plenty of advice and help is available to ensure you make the most of your time in Cape Town and bookings can be made for tours and any trips arranged. Pamela was kind enough to help us plan our trip along the garden route which made things so much easier for us-thank you so much for all your help and thanks to everyone here for another lovely few days making our stay such a pleasure and we hope to return again- we certainly wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Parker Cottage was a wonderful B&B, with personal attention from the friendly staff, and knowledgable support in navigating the city. The breakfast was delicious, and the location was super convenient for exploring Cape Town for the first time. We came to Parker Cottage for the last few days of our honeymoon and found it to be a wonderful location to end our trip. The staff also generously let us store our belongings when we had a late flight home, and even made a bathroom available so that we could change before heading to the airport. Highly recommend this spot in Cape Town.
Faboulous place: the rooms are cosy, clean. the garden is lovely, breakfast tasteful, the staff very serviceminded and helpful, good restaurants close by, sorrounding seems safe. We are happy to come back soon
We loved our stay at Parker cottage. We were there for 2 nights to enjoy Cape Town and couldn’t have felt more at home. The staff are truly the best here - each one came up to introduce themselves to us so we knew who they were and always are sure everything was just right during our stay from the breakfast (its amazing) to the room.... so cute and unique makes you feel at home and the great recommendations and help in coordinating tours and transfers. We highly recommend to anyone in Cape Town. Thank you for everything Parker Cottage. From Mat & Allie
We spent 3 nights at Parker Cottage as a prequel to a cruise departing from Cape Town. What a great choice! The place is nestled down a small street, close to many great coffee places and within walking distance to the center of town. The rooms are decent-sized and surprisingly quiet. We were picked up at the airport by Chris, a driver they suggested to use who often works for the owner, and he was prompt and friendly. Once at the Cottage, he let us in, explained the protocols, unlocked our room, and made sure we had everything we needed. We then toured the place, and had a welcome glass of wine in the kitchen. Just inside the front door was a blackboard with our names, welcoming us. A nice touch. Breakfast was simply outstanding, with so many choices, sitting in an outdoors area on a porch, sipping on very good coffee while dining on homemade pastries, eggs of choice... what a treat! We would definitely stay there again if we hopefully get back to Cape Town.
The Parker Cottage exceeded our expectations. My husband and I had a beautiful, large room with a king-sized bed. The customer service is 5 star and very personalized. They make you feel truly at home and are very kind. Breakfast was fantastic and we ate on their lovely front veranda. Everything was top-notch and we'd stay there again in a heartbeat!
A delightful Inn. There are many well appointed Hotels, Inns and Guest Homes in Cape Town. What differentiates is the staff. A wonderful team led by Pamela and Tomas. They collectively made our stay in Cape Town absolutely comfortable and enjoyable! And the location is perfect for walks to the various sites, excellent near-by restaurants, and the breakfasts here are fantastic. No need to eat lunch! Highly recommend!
We stayed here 1/29/2018 to 2/2/2018 and loved the location, the service, the delicious breakfasts and the hospitality. Thomas helped make theatre reservations and just put them on the hotel charge card so we just paid when we checked out. He made us dinner reservations and managed to help find us a box to bring home stuff to the US so it would not cost us a small fortune. They truly are wonderful and the hotel itself is so close to all the major sights. I also highly recommend having Chris drive you to the Cape of Good Hope. We spent the day with him and we were so glad we did, as he knew all the hot spots and great galleries, spots for fish and chips and how to avoid the crowds.
What a lovely place to stay in Cape Town. So different from the boring hotels at the touristic waterfront. Comfortable roms, fantastic front porch and garden where you sit for a long leisurely delectable full breakfast. Best of all the staff and the owner showing all thinkable care. Lucky you if you have booked or are planing to stay there.
Stayed here for 2 nights. A bit more 'Colonial / Victorian' feel than I personally like, but everything was excellent from Pam and her excellent staff to the great rooms. The breakfast on the Stoep was also excellent. The cottage is located on a quiet side street with easy walking access to Kloof and Long streets. They also offer a great honesty bar and general kitchen area
This was our second visit and again a great stay, location is perfect in the City Bowl, different owners this time but the same staff, nothing too much trouble, the stairs are quite steep though, and if people have mobility issues I suggest they request a ground floor room.
It was our second stay at Parker Cottage and we loved it again! The rooms are amazing and the service is awesome! A very heartly ambience & perfect breakfast. We will definitely come again! Thank you very much!
My partner and I spent a lovely, heart warming night at Parker Cottage. The ambience, attention to detail, service, friendliness and all round hospitality was exquisite. Recommend to anyone looking for a home from home stay in Cape Town.
We've never stayed at a 5 star hotel before but I think we have now. From the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left we were treated like friends. Pamela, the owner, went out of her way to provide information. The recently renovated rooms were beautiful and the breakfasts were, without doubt, the best breakfasts I've ever had and I've had a lot. The staff were unfailingly friendly and attentive - we will be returning but will have to book very early as the secret will be out about this gem.
Pamela and Thomas have only recently taken over this place but are already making their mark. Everywhere is fresh and clean, the house is welcoming and the philosophy that it is a house for guests is so true. Guests can roam all the downstairs rooms, including the kitchen to make coffee or get a glass of wine. Pamela spent a lot of time with guests explaining what to do, where to go (and not to) and answering any questions no matter how trivial. The breakfasts were innovative and unrushed, and all of the staff were helpful, smiley and wonderful. Even Vodka (the dog) was a delight. We had had a hectic couple of weeks in South Africa and this was the best end to it. Fully recommend it and hope to go back one day.
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Parker Cottage 5 nights and experiencing 5 breakfast feasts for our honeymoon and I'm still sad we left. After long days my husband and I quickly resorted to saying "when we get home..." the cottage is has a farm house chic feel with all comforts accessible which makes it home quickly. The highly secured entrance made you feel safe, excellent eateries and city tours at your doorsteps, and I must repeat about the delicious feast that are worth waking up early on vacation for. Tomas will set you up with all you need to know/reserve, staff is detailed/delightful and lastly make sure you hire Chris or his extensively trained drivers to tour you around their wealth of knowledge of the city is entertaining/eye opening. Everything at Parker Cottage is worth every single penny.
Parker Cottage is perfect! It's a perfect blend of luxury and a laid-back atmosphere. Pamela is an incredibly helpful, kind, and flexible host, and all the staff are accommodating and friendly. The breakfast (and coffee) is delicious. I have stayed here twice and will definitely be going back.
We stayed in the Family Suite at Parker Cottage for 4 nights. It was fantastic!! The location is very convenient, with great restaurants nearby. The staff was extremely accommodating. For example, they prepared our delicious breakfasts early when we had to leave early one morning for a Peninsula Tour. They also helped us arrange to have some of our luggage sent to Parker Cottage from Kruger National Park when we had lower luggage limits for the Botswana portion of our trip. Everyone is extremely friendly. The Family Suiite is perfect for people needing 2 rooms.

My son and I recently traveled to Cape Town, South Africa and spent a week at the Parker Cottage. We could not have been treated better by the wonderful staff. I can't say enough nice things about them and their wonderful place. It is located close to Long Street and the Garden and not too far from the popular Bo Kop Neighborhood and the Waterfront. I highly recommend staying here. Pamela the owner could not have been more gracious. Tomas, Jameson, Donovan, and all of the other staff were very friendly. The breakfasts were all tasty and presented well. We loved our stay in Cape Town. It is such a beautiful, vibrant city. Our stay was enhanced because we stayed at a place that was a great value for our money with people who truly care about their guests. Warm Regards, Mike Mower and Alex Mower, Salt Lake City, Utah
We spent six nights at Parker Cottage & cannot have been happier. The guesthouse is very comfortable, clean. A home away from home. The breakfasts are delicious on the front porch. The staff is very kind and helpful. Practically anything could be arranged - restaurant reservations, tickets, transfers. The location is ideal - many restaurants in the vicinity & the city center is very close. I would not hesitate to recommend this guesthouse. We hope to visit Cape Town in the future. we stayed here in view of the previous reviews and we were certainly not disappointed, Pamela and all her staff here could not do more to ensure our stay here was perfect and it certainly was. We arranged for the airport transfers through Pamela and Chris was prompt and waiting for us and was really friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful really nicely presented and we had a lovely room which was large, clean and immaculately finished with good bathroom/shower and the room had lovely furniture and comfortable bed.The breakfasts were superb with a large choice and plenty available with different options each day.It was lovely sitting on the veranda and enjoying the lovely garden.Everyone here is so friendly and helpful you couldn't wish to meet nicer people. We had an early departure and we were still offered breakfast to help on our way. Use of the kitchen was really handy for a cup of tea whenever you wanted. Tickets to local sights can be arranged here which was helpful and plenty of advice available on local restaurants and sights which were only a short walk away. We found the local area was always safe and had no problems walking around. We are certainly planning to come here again on our next trip.Thank you Pamela and everyone here on making this such an lovely and enjoyable stay.

Sitting in the garden is nice and quiet. Breakfast is amazing and difficult to choose! Make sure you stay enough nights to work your way through everything. But the omelette was so nice I couldn't resist having it again! We will definitely stay here again next time in Cape Town (hopefully not too long...)
We recently stayed at Parker Cottage for one week during our stay at Cape Town. Not only was the accommodation superb- beautifully appointed rooms, amazing gourmet breakfast and serene gardens, but each and every member of the staff was welcoming, pleasant and professional. Pamela, our hostess, exceeded all of our expectations. So sweet, accommodating and capable. We were visiting family and she very graciously welcomed our three boys into the fold. It was not uncommon for us to arrive on the veranda for breakfast and find one of our family having coffee and reading the paper, just as if they had been guests at the hotel. The location is well placed, within an easy half hour walk to the Waterfront and within easy walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. We truly would recommend Parker Cottage- we don't know why anyone would choose to stay anywhere else while in Cape Town. Thank you for such a lovely, warm welcome.
This was our second visit to Parker Cottage and although the owner has changed it still is THE place to stay.. Such very friendly staff , great atmosphere and the legendary breakfasts. Ideally positioned with views of Table Mountain with many very good restaurants within a five minute walk. Nothing was to much trouble and help and recommendations freely given. The rooms are all different and well decorated and furnished with extremely comfy beds....This was our second visit to Parker Cottage and although the owner has changed it still is THE place to stay.. We stayed in Parker cottage for 3 nights as a party of six.The breakfast are divine with an excellent choice, yogurts, parfait, fresh fruit ,pancakes, juices and a wide range of cooked dishes.Weather permitting breakfast is served on the terrace,An honesty bar is available for guests use and tea and coffee can be made whenever you want. Pamela and the team are very helpful and will arrange tickets for various attractions eg Table Mountain and Robben Island. The whole Parker Cottage Team including Vodka go the extra mile to make your stay special. Thanks Pamela
My wife took me by surprise to Capetown celebrating my 40th Birthday and could not have made any better choice for our accommodation. Knowing I like authentic, local experiences she booked us into Parker Cottage. Quality of rooms and breakfast are impeccable but what stroke us most was the thorough and genuine care Pamela and her team took of us. Each member of the team is of such kindness which made breakfast and coming "home" after a day of excursions always a moment of joy and relaxation for us. The various tours which Thomas helped us organizing can pride themselves with the same attributes: top quality and sincerely careful. A heartfelt thank you for an unforgettable week in Capetown full of discoveries and plenty of interactions with many beautiful people.
We loved our three night stay at Parker Cottage. Pamela is a wonderful hostess who makes you feel relaxed and at home immediately. All the staff are lovely, so friendly and helpful. The room we had was spacious and had everything we needed. A quick trip to the kitchen for early morning tea to take back upstairs was no hardship. The breakfasts were gorgeous and eating them outside in the lovely garden under a huge orange tree was a treat. It is a beautiful old building with a very calm atmosphere in a quiet area ideal for walking into the city. I wish our stay had been longer and would love to go back one day.
We (2 parents - 3 children : 5 adults) spent a week here in April under the new owner . We had
rooms 9 and 10,
then actually used 4 and 7 later in the week - our request. The rooms are wonderful, the beds of
highest quality
and all amenities provided. The new owner, Pamela, is a wonderful person, attentive to her
guests in every way,
and has retained the phenomenal staff that has been there all along. They assist with you with

The rooms were all
very nice. Good air
conditioning if needed, showers and amenities very nice!
There is a refrigerator in the
hall where you can
store your wine that you buy touring around the wine country!
Breakfast was WONDERFUL each
day. (Served to us
by Nompilo :) ) Excellent assortment of choices (The Desmond Tutu omelette was 5 thumbs up!!),
fresh juices,
coffee and tea and you never leave hungry! Sit outside on nice days, or in the dining room if
nature
requires.
Nice wine selections for afternoon or evening choices. Kitchen open for coffee,
tea, snacks all
day/night self-catered.
Tomas helped with daytime ventures and restaurant
reservations/recommendations. We
took 3 day trips with Chris Hannival's designate (Ron - his adult nephew!! - excellent driver
and guide). All well
worth the time and cost for certain. Beautiful sites and education about South African history
and culture. We had
booked a trip for shark cave diving with the old owners - bit of a gliche when we arrived, but
solved perfectly by
Pamela and Tomas!!
We spent one day at the Kirstenbosch gardens and from there hiking up
Skeleton Gorge to
the top of Table Mountain - AMAZING!
Easy access to hiking up Lion's Head as well on a
different
day.
The house is in a perfect part of the city for walkable exceptional restaurants
(Millers Thumb, Fork,
Black Sheep and Kloof Street House).
And, if laundry is necessary - as we were there
a week with
another week to safari - it's a 2 minute walk to the laundromat - right next to a nice pub for a
drink during the
wash cycle! (The Cottage will do your laundry as well!)
I am so glad we selected Parker
Cottage - it will
remain our selection of choice when we return in the future!
I have a feeling that the new owner will raise the already high standards Parker Cottage staff
and service
already uphold. Charming hostess, smiling staff, incredible breakfast, comfortable rooms, great
recommendations,
and a service-first attitude. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Parker Cottage, so much so that
we encouraged the
travel agent who booked our safaris to try to visit while in Cape Town for a convention. I

We walked to
most major sights
which is our preference. Tickets for the Table Mountain cable car, Robben Island, restaurants,
etc. can be made by
the inn.
The drive service they use is excellent. The drivers we had for full day
tours were well -
informed and enthusiastic about their area. Chris did our airport transfer and a full day Cape
Peninsula tour. Ron
drove us to the Winelands, and included far more than just visits to wineries. We felt we
received an interesting
and educational perspective from both. The tours were great and a good value.
To sum
up, Parker Cottage
is not a B&B. It is a small, comfortable, warm, relaxing, service oriented inn. Book now!
We just stayed 3 nights here at Parker Cottage, and thought it was fabulous. The breakfasts on the verandah and a late afternoon beer and wine on the same verandah were a highlight. There were a number of great restaurants local. Very friendly team of Pamela, Tomas and staff made our Cape Town stay so much more personable than a hotel. Would definitely recommend.
We had stayed at Parker Cottage a few times under the previous owners and were interested to see that Pernile, the new Swiss owner, had spruced the place up (more to come, apparently) but has maintained the brilliant standard of service that Phil had established. Lovely fresh breakfasts and lots of support if you need any help or guidance around town.
We stayed for four nights in the Pomegranite "Beautiful" class room. Everything about this
B&B is outstanding

Pamela and team are running a real paradise in Capetown: Beautiful garden, delicious breakfast, super helpful tips for trips, restaurants etc., we could go on forever telling highlights about Parker Cottage. On top, they have been utterly helpful when I really needed them. Due to bad tap water I drank on top of the table mountains, I got really sick. In the middle of the night we had to ask them to call an ambulance. It was just mindblowing how friendly and helpful they have been. Without them it would have been a nightmare for us. We will definately stay again in this lovely B&B with lovely Pamela & Team again when being back in Capetown.
Once again I do not know where to start! This is by far the best Bed and Breakfast in Cape Town.
I just cannot
fault it. There is nowhere I would rather be. Pamela is the new owner and she is absolutely
delightful and makes
you feel like a really good friend. I feel so safe at PC and I love all the staff so much. It is
so central which
is fantastic. An Uber is never more than 4 minutes away and they are very reliable. I stayed in
the Kane Room this

Parker Cottage! Everyone makes you feel so welcome and they are all so so helpful and kind.Once
again I do not
know where to start! This is by far the best Bed and Breakfast in Cape Town. I just cannot fault
it. There is
nowhere I would rather be. Pamela is the new owner and she is absolutely delightful and makes
you feel like a
really good friend. I feel so safe at PC and I love all the staff so much. It is so central
which is fantastic. An
Uber is never more than 4 minutes away and they are very reliable. I stayed in the Kane Room

Thank you so
much once again for
an unforgettable stay.
It is impossible to imagine a more delightful place to stay than Parker Cottage. It combines the warmth and intimacy of a B & B with the attention to detail and superb service of a boutique hotel. Much to my surprise and delight, when I made a booking with the cottage, they got in touch with me to help me plan my itinerary in Cape Town. They proved to be remarkable travel agents. They work with the best tour guides and drivers imaginable and their restaurant recommendations were spot on. I especially appreciated the management’s concern with promoting ethical and sustainable tourism. My guides Ron Martin and Michael Letlala (the latter of the amazing Coffee Bean Tours) were incredibly well-informed as well as being wonderful individuals. Their tours were both enjoyable and educational. My room in the cottage was magnificent - tastefully dedicated and spotless. For once the much-touted breakfasts lived up to their billing. I stayed for nine nights and each day, breakfast was different and delicious. The (extensive) staff at the Cottage couldn’t be better. My thanks go to Tomas, Jameison, and Yangele (apologies for any spelling errors) for making my stay so memorable. While I was at the Cottage, there was an ownership change. Long-time fans of the Cottage shouldn’t worry. The new proprietor, Pamela Naylor, is terrific; obviously up to the challenge of maintaining the Cottage’s high standards. My only advice to prospector travelers is to make your reservations early. The Cottage tends to be at perpetually at full occupancy.
What a lovely place! Cute guest house, Parker Cottage is located in a very quite neighborhood. Pamela and the staff are just amazing and very attentive. They made us feel at home and offered us a very personalized service doing everything they could to ensure us a memorable stay - which it definitely was. Each room is characterized with a unique style and decoration. Their breakfast is delicious and fresh. The menu a la carte offers from yogurt and fruits to a wide selection of egg dishes in addition to a daily special. We also enjoyed having our breakfast on the terrasse. What a lovely place! Parker Cottage has just gone through a transfer of ownership, but the quality was exactly what we
hoped for from
the reviews. Excellent service from the owner, who provided us with an 'orientation' of Cape
Town. Similarly, the
entire staff is incredibly warm and kind toward guests in a way that really makes the place feel

Location is excellent. If you have a car, finding parking is not too
difficult. Wifi is
strong. Rooms are very comfortable.
The highlight is breakfast, which is the best my
wife and I have
had at a hotel.
We arrived late at night, but Chris picked us up from the airport and gave us an orientation upon our arrival - everything was super smooth and easy (such a kind welcome note in our room). My room was lovely (#10) and quiet in the back of the house. We took advantage of many of their restaurant recommendations within walking distance and in Camps Bay and appreciated their help making recommendations. They arranged our Table Mountain tickets, etc. Pamela arranged a masseuse to come to Parker and I had the most fabulous massage! Highly recommend. If we couldn't arrange an Uber, they were more than happy to arrange transport for us. The breakfasts were just lovely. Make sure to take the time to enjoy them. Wish I could have stayed longer and highly recommend and would love to go back!
We chose Parker based on the reviews on trip advisor and your own website and we were more than happy that we did, everything was perfect, the location, the rooms and especially the food. The staff, everyone, deserve a special mention they do you proud. Also, must mention Shawn and Chris who were simply brilliant.. Sincerely,we had the best holiday ever,it was simply fantastic and Parker went a long way towards that happening. We will return to CT one day and will be sure to pay you a visit. Keep up the great work and dont change a thing.
I can recommend the best BnB we have EVER stayed in anywhere! It is in the perfect location in Tamboerskloof, and we would go back there in a flash! I've stayed in some of the finest hotels.... and this is my favourite place that I've ever stayed. So welcoming, perfect service
We have been overwhelmed with the beauty of your country since our arrival at the Winelands and our trip to the coast to and beyond. A week in Capetown at your welcoming guest house has been very special...let us start by saying that Tomas met us and gave us a fabulous overview and made us feel immediately at home. He also had Lawanda walk us to a local restaurant the first night for dinner and then we returned and sank into the cozy bed. Your staff are so friendly and welcoming, and we have a soft spot for Nompilo! Who couldn't have a good day when greeted with that smile! There were two deciding factors to us choosing Parker over any other accommodation, one was most certainly our friend Naida's comments and the other was comments on FB of the fair treatment of your staff. Now, Tomas had a needed break and how lucky were we to have Phaedra take his place-she is so perfect...funny, thorough, personable and just so good with guests- we've had some fun mornings with her.
Now, since you asked, I will tell you that the Parker exceeded my expectations. The furnishings and ambiance were second to none. Your staff were so accommodating and helpful that I feared we would never be able to leave. Everyone in my group was happy!!
Thanks for the email. We had a beautiful stay at Parker! The food was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. No complaints from us! I hope to come back and visit some day soon.
I have talked to my wife (Josephine) about returning to Cape Town, and Parker Cottage. Truthfully there is nothing that needs to be done or looked after regarding our stay. I truly felt at home. Your staff are very accommodating. I am very happy to have spent the time with you. I was very satisfied with both our rooms. That is all we needed. Thank you and your staff from the bottom of my heart. I have never felt so welcomed in all my travels.
All of us can’t say enough good things about your wonderful Parker Cottage! I only wish we’d had more time in Cape Town. Thank you for your hospitality, for arranging our tours (even in Joburg!), arranging our transfers to/from the airport and for even offering to shop for camera batteries for me! Above and beyond. I will get on TripAdvisor today to post a review.
Thank you so very much for your professionalism. I really hope I can find friends who are traveling to S Africa just so I can brag about your B&B.
We are just now really back in Canada. We had more wonderful adventures after South Africa in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. ( I received your email while staying at the Sossusvlei Lodge.) We loved everything about our stay with you. You gave us lots of help with sightseeing, dining, and out of town reservations. Having knowledgeable, thoughtful Shawn as chauffeur removed the pressure of "other side of the road" driving and added greatly to our relaxation and pleasure as tourists. Parker House breakfasts are without equal! We can't think of anything you need to change. We felt pampered and welcomed. Perfect! Thankyou.
Ever since the first warm welcome in April 2015, I have kept on coming back to this special place and can without a doubt call Parker Cottage my home in Cape Town. Every room is unique and comfortable, all with beautiful décor. Very grand living room where you can read your book in peace or meet other residents. Breakfast, which is a feast of fresh fruit, juice and your choice of cooked breakfast, is served in the sun in the beautiful garden. Parker Cottage is very conveniently located in the safe neighborhood of Tamboerskloof, only a short walk away from many of Cape Town’s best restaurants and bars. That said, the real asset to Parker Cottage are its people. Always friendly, always interested, very efficient and always ready to help. They don’t just go the extra mile, they go the extra 10 miles to make your stay as comfortable as can be. I have been astonished by their genuine hospitality on many occasions. I strongly recommend Parker Cottage to anyone visiting Cape Town. I have taken my mother and many friends, all of whom have been equally enthusiastic. A real recommendation!
Everyone is so very happy with their stay in Cape Town. Your attention to detail is fantastic. The lovely home, delicious breakfasts, warm and welcoming staff. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you time and again for all the information you provided, for your welcoming staff, lovely B and B, and killer breakfasts--I am repeating myself because I want you to know how pleased and excited I was with the whole Parker Cottage experience. Thanks, Phil! Please tell Chris that our tours with Kyle were terrific. Nivel was a sight for sore eyes at the airport that first night.
I hope that you are well and keeping busy. Thank you again for a wonderful visit. Really I can’t think of how you or the team could have been more helpful, and the tours with Chris were wonderful – absolutely first rate. I am looking forward to seeing you all again at my next visit at Christmas.
The Parker Cottage was amazing! Specious, clean and had everything we needed. The staff were incredible. Very attentive and professional!
Besides, we were very happy to stay with you guys in the Parker Cottage. My expectations were high and have been perfectly hit. We loved the Victorian style and everyone was kind and helpful. Maybe one could change things, but it puts me in an awkward position to find something improvable. Excellent job. So keep on going!!
There was widespread consensus that our stay at Parker Cottage was simply superb. From the scrumptious breakfasts to the uniquely decorated rooms and the endless support from the parker team there was nothing we would have changed! We look forward to returning as soon as we possibly can and will spread the word.
We just want to thank you for being such incredible hosts to us during our stay in Cape Town. We've honestly never felt such warm hospitality and generosity at any other inn or bed and breakfast we've ever stay at and we've stayed at quite a handful around the world! The entire team was such a treat to get to know over our brief stay. Phil, thank you for jumping right in and getting us going on the right foot. And especially Penny, thank you so much for helping arrange our driver out to Stellenbosch on such a short notice and doing it with a smile on your face the entire time. Speaking of which, do you happen to have Chris's email address? We'd like to thank him personally for the service and to thank our driver Kyle, who was so incredible and so fun to spend the day with. Without a doubt, we'd recommend your beautiful place to anyone and everyone we know who's lucky enough to visit Cape Town. We ourselves are already scheming for our return and wouldn't stay anywhere else but Parker Cottage.
Just writing to say thank you for a wonderful stay in such a lovely place. I enjoyed the stay and the tours - and thank you also for introducing me to Chris and his team who made great guides. Phil, will share with you any good pictures that i think are worth the while!
Nice to be hearing from you again. We and the parents really enjoyed staying at Parker Cottage. Especially, the family like atmosphere was great, again. We will definitely come back
Thanks Phil once more! It was definitely our pleasure and can't find anything to comment on. Just please pass our special thanks to Tomas because he was such an incredible host to us. We will definitely stay at Parker Cottage if we ever visit Cape Town again - and I certainly hope that I will!
What a fabulous trip we had to SA. Phil, Parker Cottage was a perfect spot for us. I will highly recommend you to anyone we know heading to Cape Town. You have such a beautifully located guest home with a wonderful staff. Tomas and Penny were always such a help to us and so incredibly kind - as were you. We felt at home in your kitchen and our room was quiet, lovely, and comfortable. The breakfasts on your lovely open air porches were outstanding. Chris, was also a huge help driving our group. We found him so interesting, professional, and just an all-round nice guy. Thank you again for all your advice and assistance. Who knows? You may see us again with grandchildren one day!
I've been sitting on this for a couple of days trying to think what could have been better...and I can't think of anything! What you do there in Parker Cottage is lovely..............it really does feel like 'coming home'. Your team are great, the breakfasts are to die for, the rooms really comfortable, your location is excellent...........we feel the area is a second home almost. We love Rifiki's and The Millers Thumb! Interestingly the heritage style isn't normally my choice ........but I really love Parker Cottage. What you do, works.
Many thanks for your kind message. Yes, we had have a long journey to Hamburg (21 hours), but without any problems. Back home we are missing the summer in Cape Town very much. It was a very nice stay in your hotel and we remember the time very gladly.
As to your question, if anything at Parker Cottage could have been better, the simple answer is 'No'. We've been talking about how we all felt welcome, the delightful breakfasts and the well kept rooms. Even the bed and pillow were satisfactory :) (Not always the case at hotels.)
Well, where to start. I wanted to thank you all for the huge amounts of effort you went to, ensuring my stay was perfect, and it was! Parker never disappoints and I have been spoilt, my expectations for B&Bs are now so incredibly high...what have you done?!! I appreciate everything you did for me more than I could ever say and I will return to you for many years to come, I am certain of this. It's always great to stay at the same place and try out the different rooms, they are all so beautiful and so different. I absolutely loved my room this time around. The bed was enormous and there was ample storage space. It's such a homely place. You were all so kind, always smiling and so welcoming, I felt so comfortable and safe staying at PC and I will continue to write more about all of the above on TripAdvisor very soon! Another glowing review coming your way... Thank you so much for all that you did and for the warm welcome etc. Have a wonderful week and I cannot wait to be back soon!
The visit was as always "feel at home". Always very friendly and "we feel at home". Starting the vacation in Cape Town and stay at Parker Cottage is an absolute must. We were also happy (but not surprised) that also Eva & Göran liked the hospitality.
I apologize for our delay in replying. We wanted to make sure we wrote to you to thank you so much for such an amazing stay at your beautiful "home away from home." Unfortunately we returned so late from watching the sunset from the top of Table Mountain and from dinner on our last night and had such an early morning flight the next day, we were unable to thank everyone and say goodbye in person. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the level of service and by such a wonderful staff. What a beautiful place and beautiful people you have! We felt so taken care of and our biggest regret was that our stay was so short! Because our time was short, we tried to fit in as much as possible! Tomas, thank you for asking about our shark dive adventure. It was an amazing trip! We saw several sharks and we saw a shark attack a seal right at our boat-it was so close it actually hit our boat! Also, you were right, it was quite something to watch the sunset from the top of Table Mountain. Absolutely gorgeous! It was a beautiful end to our time there. Thank you so much for getting the tickets for us and arranging for transportation! It all worked out perfectly! Our entire stay was unforgettable and we fell in love with the area (and Parker Cottage and staff)! Our trip to the Winelands on our first day was splendid as well as the tour of the peninsula the next day. We can't say enough about our driver, Chris. We adored him and he also made our stay one we will never forget. I was very disappointed to realize that because we were so busy, we never got a picture of Chris, Tomas, or Phil. Could you possibly help me out with that? We were able to get some of the kitchen staff and others. I would love a picture of Chris with his car (possibly in front of Parker Cottage) and of Tomas and Phil as well. I would appreciate it as the people there were such a huge part of our great experience in South Africa-I'd like to add them to our photo book. Again, thank you so much for all of your assistance before, during and after our stay! The food, the accommodations, the gardens, the people, the comfortable beds, the honesty fridge, the recommendations, the amazing personal touches (and whoever ordered that perfect weather!?)...it was all so beyond our highest expectations! We can't wait to return!
